Oshana is working with COMPaRE-PHC on the Better Management of Weight in General Practice (BMWGP) study at the NSW study sites. He is a research officer at the Centre of Primary Health Care and Equity, UNSW.

Oshana has a medical background and has worked in general practice research since 1996. He has been involved in several chronic disease management studies. His main areas of research include:

•           The role of practice nurses in the early diagnosis and management of COPD in primary care

•           The effectiveness of multidisciplinary care plans in improving the quality of care and patient outcomes of diabetic patients

•           Exploring the effectiveness of practice nurses in helping patients attending general practice to quit smoking
